The Vistas Summerlin is situated just west of the 215 beltway on elevated topography that offers views of the Las Vegas Strip and spectacular views of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The Vistas was the first village within Summerlin's western region. It is bordered on the west by Desert Foothills Drive and by Far Hills Avenue to the north. The village's northern and southern entries are marked by parks and 48-foot clock towers, which have become famous Summerlin landmarks. The Howard Hughes Corporation commenced development on The Vistas village in 2000.
The Vistas Summerlin will feature three parks owned and operated by the Summerlin Council, North Tower Park and South Tower. These parks feature children's play areas, picnic and barbecue areas and open play areas. The Vistas Park will be 23 acres in size. It includes a community center, lighted football field, lighted softball fields, lighted tennis courts, basketball courts, a group picnic pavilion, children's play area, interactive water play area and restrooms.
A new commercial development, Vista Commons, a the corner of Charleston Blvd and Desert Foothills Drive will offer residents easy access to a grocery store, a bank, gas station, and several other retail stores.
